Bon petit déjeuner pris dans le patio, ce qui est très agréable.
Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits et avons eu un très bon service
Charming haven in Merida
We arrived late on the first night and were welcomed by Nayeli, who checked us in most efficiently. Located in a quiet street a short walk from the historic centre, the hotel is a colonial house converted into an 8-room inn. The front door opens straight into what looks like a private living room, beautifully furnished with just a desk for the receptionist, and going through there is a patio with luxuriant plants, a small pool, an open air terrace for breakfast and a kitchen opposite. Our room (No 5) was spacious and comfortable, and always spotlessly clean, with ample storage, two large double beds and a hammock - the Mayas do love their hammocks. We particularly liked the excellent lighting, both bedside, alcove and ceiling spots. The decor was attractive, with painted walls and a pretty tiled washbasin. As it was February, we slept with just the ceiling fan and did not have to turn on the air conditioning.Breakfast included fruit, toast with butter and jam, and freshly cooked eggs or pancakes. The staff were friendly and professional; Rene helped with the breakfast as well as manning the reception, while Argelia, who speaks excellent English, offered good advice on local sights and activities.
We spent four days touring and three days in Merida. We felt perfectly safe, and Merida has plenty of cultural attractions. It was always nice to come back to the hotel and cool off in the pool, which we usually had to ourselves. We would certainly recommend Marionetas to friends
